The Nitmiluk
(Katherine) Gorge Caravan Park is only minutes from the entrance
to the Gorge System and departure point for boat cruises and
canoes. Featuring well grassed and shady sites in a picturesque
setting, the park is the perfect place for weary travellers
to unwind and relax.
Wallabies
wander freely through the grounds and are quite tame. Choose
from the many walking trails around the park ranging from
short easy distances to extended hiking.
The Nitmiluk
Centre is a short walk way, featuring Visitor Information,
Kiosk, souvenirs and the Nitmiluk Restaurant with dining balcony
offering a magnificent view at sunset. Nitmiluk Centre also
features a colourful display of local flora, fauna and rock
formations in the area, and a history of the Jawoyn Aboriginal
culture.
