DAY 1- KAKADU NATIONAL PARK: Depart Katherine at 7 am for an exciting 2 days in Kakadu, World Heritage Country. We approach via the Southern End through Mary River, the gateway to Kakadu. Next is Waterfall Creek (Gunlom), a deep permanent pool fringed by pandanus palms and high cliffs. We then go to Cooinda, home of Yellow Waters where you will enjoy the variety of birds, wildlife and crocodiles on a sunset cruise. Overnight at your choice of accommodation.

DAY 2- KAKADU NATIONAL PARK: Depart at 7am for Nourlangie Rock, just magic at this time of the morning. Today will create long lasting memories of Kakadu for you, including Ubirr, Bowali , Border Store, East Alligator and so much more....... Arrive Darwin approximately 5:00pm.

Day 1: Mataranka & Katherine
Depart from The Ghan at 8am or your accommodation for a memorable visit to Mataranka. Enjoy morning tea at the Territory Manor and see the Barramundi fish feeding at the billabong. Then on to Mataranka Homeastead to visit the magical Thermal Pool (constant 34C) in time for a quick swim (It is said to have therapeutic powers). We then visite Elsey Homestead Replica, this was built when filming "We of the Never Never". We travel back to the Territory Manor to enjoy your lunch in the tropical garden bistro. Journey back to Katherine to join a 2 hour boat cruise at the outstanding and spectacular Nitmiluk (Katherine) Gorge. This days ends aroun 5:50pm in Katherine. Your evening is at your leisure, but there are exciting options available.

Day 2: Kakadu National Park
Depart Katherine at 7:00pm for an exciting 2 days in Kakadu. We approach via the Southern End through Mary River. Next is Waterfall and high cliffs. We then go to Cooinda, home of Yellow Waters. Enjoy the variety of birds, wildlife and crocodiles on a sunset cruise. Overnight at your choice of accommodation in Kakadu.

Day 3: Kakadu National Park

Depart Katherine accommodation and drive south along the Stuart Highway towards the township of Mataranka- Land of the Never Never. Points of interest will be spotted along the way. This part of the journey takes just over an hour. Visit the unique rammed earth constructed Territory Manor for a brief stop and morning tea. Here you will see giant silver Barramundi being fed at the water lily covered Billabong.

On arrival at historic Mataranka Homestead, take the opportunity to tour the replica of the original Elsey Homestead, used in the filming of “We of the Never Never”. Then, take the beautiful palm lined walkway for a swim in the famous Thermal Pool (said to have therapeutic powers). Enjoy lunch at the Territory Manor before departing for Katherine. Arrive in Katherine approximately 2pm.

Wildlife Evening Dinner Cruise

Depart from the Historic Springvale Homestead for your evening boat cruise on the lower Katherine river with our experienced guide. Marvel at the star filled night skies, unspoiled by city lights. Wonder at the glorious reflections, joining the river bank and water as one. The darkness of the night offers much to those with keen eyes. Spotlight the Johnstone River Crocodiles, owls, wallabies and other nocturnal animals, their bright eyes reflecting any light in the night. Your guide will light a campfire and attempt the ‘crocs’ for photographs -”Smile Please”. Swap yarns with fellow travellers and then enjoy a BBQ washed down with billy tea, wine and orange juice.

Board your boat to cruise back to the jetty by approximately 9:30pm. We recommend you wear comfortable walking shoes as there is approximately 600m walk through sand. Please bring a lightweight jacket with you as the evenings can be cool.
